We've moved!!!

After a red eye flight back home from Vegas, we arrived at 7 a.m. but didn't have any time to rest. By the time we arrived home, our moving van was there ready to get loaded. Our closing was scheduled for that afternoon.

After a month of hell dealing with the broker, we finally got the keys to our new house. It was an amazing feeling!

We had a long night ahead of us and we were up late moving in the furniture and more boxes than I could count! I really can't believe all that stuff fit in our 2/2 condo! We ended up taking Wednesday off and finished moving most of our stuff.

It was great sleeping in the house that first night. Tego and Luna were a bit scared...they cried all night! But they're so happy to have a yard!

I can't wait to start decorating the nursery!!! My first appointment is Nov. 10. I'm so excited!

Ta ta!

Our babymoon in Las Vegas!

We've had a very eventful week...after finding out I was pregnant, I had a business trip to Reno, NV. During my stay, it was our 3rd anniversary! To celebrate, Omar met me in Las Vegas.  It turned out to be our 'baby'moon! Similar to a honeymoon, we were able to celebrate the good news we received and enjoyed our quality time. Who knows when we'll have time for another trip like this!

Although Las Vegas isn't my style - we don't gamble, drink, smoke, etc., it really is a sight to see at night. The hotels are awesome and we were able to relive our honeymoon at The Venetian! We also saw Criss Angel's show Believe and "O" Cirque du Soleil! "O" was my favorite and it's a must see if you're ever in Vegas!!!

On Sunday, we drove to the Grand Canyon! One of the world's wonders! It was really amazing to see it in person! I've taken lots of photos but haven't had a chance to upload any yet!

On Monday, we were able to see our old friend Dennis! He's now married and has a son named Mason...what a cutie! We had a great time catching up.

That's all for now! =)

Sharing the good news!

So we were going to wait a few weeks, but we are very close to our parents and we wanted them to know so they could be our support system!

A few months ago, I designed 2 dog t-shirts for our labs. One said "I may pee on trees but mom peed on a stick +++" and the other "Mom's eggo is preggo." We walked in to my parents home and of course it was really dark (so you can't see their faces in the video!) They started chasing the dogs trying to read what it said and my mom read one out loud and said "WHAT! You're pregnant? Are you serious!?!" I nodded and they started screaming and crying. It was really emotional!

So then we all went to the in-laws house to surprise them! Unfortunately, they weren't home, but we let ourselves in. After an hour wait, they arrived and my parents hid. They walked in and read the t-shirts and thought nothing of it! "Oh that's cute!" they said. "You didn't get it. I'm pregnant!" They had this stunned look on their face and I pulled out my digital test. "Is this a joke?" We hugged and my family came out screaming. I think they were too stunned to even cry...although my father-in-law did get choked up while he gave a toast.

I also had the chance to share the news with my best friend, who has been my confidant these past 6 months. She always knew how to keep my spirits up and was very encouraging! She was totally shocked and brought me to tears! I love you Nessa!

Hubby and I couldn't be happier and we're praying for a happy and healthy 9 months!

We're having a baby!!!

We found out this morning (10.17)  that we're expecting! As I mentioned before, we got off the pill at the end of April. Since then, I've been charting and taking my temps (this might sound weird to some of you, but it helps determine ovulation). Month and month, we'd get negative results and I was getting worried we wouldn't be able to conceive. But God heard our prayers and he gave us the best anniversary gift ever.

My temps were high this morning, and with no sign of my monthly gift from mother nature, I decided to test. Right away the first line came up and I thought it was a negative for sure. I continued to brush my teeth while hubby read the directions =] When I looked down, I saw a faint second line and hubby said he saw it too! I started shaking and decided to do a digital test to make sure! After only 20 seconds, it said "Pregnant!"

I immediately started crying and we were jumping for joy in the bathroom. We can't believe we'll be parents soon but we are beyond excited! I can't wait to see our little peanut grow inside of me. Hubby can't believe he'll be a daddy!

Our due date is 6/28/09.
Keep checking in to find out the latest!

Bitten by the baby bug...

The minute you get married, people start asking the next question: "When are the babies coming?"

I guess you could say that I was bitten by the baby bug soon after we were married...it was just a matter of waiting until hubbie was ready.

In March 2007, he and I had the baby talk again, but this time he caught me by surprise. We were in Gatlinburg, Tennessee on vacation with friends. We were staying at a gorgeous cabin for a week and it turned out to be a road trip full of memories.

We happened to waltz into an Osh Kosh Bgosh, while our friend shopped around for her sister who was expecting. I couldn't help looking though all the cute baby clothes when I came across an adorable ladybug onesie. I turned to my hubbie and asked if we could please buy it for whenever we have kids. I figured we should get one for a boy too! We kept looking for a perfect pair when he turned to me and said, "You are ruining your birthday present." I didn't understand and my confused look spoke for itself. My birthday was only one week away. "I wanted to surprise you on your birthday. I want us to start trying to have a baby." My mouth hit the floor, and tears welled up immediately. I was overjoyed.

A month later, I stopped taking birth control and it's been a journey. It's been hard not to share this with our parents, but we really want to surprise them when it happens for us! We know it'll happen in God's time.

Time to pack!

Hubbie and I had been discussing buying a home for a while. The opportunity presented itself a few weeks ago and we made an offer, only later to find out that there was a $150k lien on the property. Tragic? Yes, but we were fortunate enough to find an even better home, 10 houses down from the first one. We placed an offer on the second home and they accepted.

But, it hasn't been that easy. In the midst of all of this, the economy took a downfall and they started talking about a bailout bill and the possibility of credit coming to a halt. To make a long story short, it's been a crazy few weeks and I've endured many headaches, BUT there is always a light at the end of the tunnel. Yesterday, we were told that our loan was approved and we are closing on October 28.

To make matters just a little more complicated, I'll be in Reno from Oct. 21 to the 24 and meeting the hubbie in Las Vegas to celebrate our anniversary. We arrive back home early on the 28 and off to the closing from there. Which means, that I'll have to be packed and ready to move before I leave to Nevada! Stressful, but I know that in the end it will be so worth it. Even if it's empty for a while, it'll be ours.

Pics will be up soon!

In the beginning...

I don't know why I didn't start a blog sooner! My hubbie and I have been married for almost 3 years (10.22.05) and soon it'll be a decade together!

I guess you could say we were high school sweethearts, but we didn't go to the same school. We met at church and became inseparable ever since. He popped the question on 9.23.04 and we tied the knot on 10.22.05. For those of you who live in South Florida, you might recall that Hurricane Wilma hit two days later. That week was hell for me. Between tears and family canceling out on us, we were devastated. But when Saturday came around, the weather couldn't have been more beautiful. It really went off without a hitch and we were so thrilled to have our loved ones share that special day with us. No matter what anyone says, I wouldn't change a thing. We overlooked the lit Miami skyline and it was simply breathtaking. The next day we left for our two week honeymoon in Italy - right before the airports closed! It was really amazing and I hope to go back again some day.

We feel really blessed to have each other and our families have been really wonderful! We wouldn't be who we are today without their love and support. Now, almost three years later, we are in the process of buying our first single-family home - which you'll hear all about in this blog. We currently live in a cozy condo, but are happy to be moving on up! Our fur babies, Tego and Luna (lab mixes) will now have a yard to play in. And, of course, we're planning ahead and making room for our future family.

Thanks for reading and welcome to my blog!

Special shout out to my old classmate and friend, Jenny Lopez, who inspired me to start blogging!
